I'll also be playing Whoop & Hollar Folk Fest this August!
Only 45 minutes from Winnipeg, a magical experience awaits. Situated on a beautiful rural property located 10 minutes southeast of downtown Portage la Prairie, the evening-long Whoop & Hollar Folk Festival will be returning for its fourth year this August! Be prepared for some whooping and hollering as you savor phenomenal music from an amazing lineup of local talent! Dance, sing, walk "The Cottonwood Trail," enjoy the labyrinth garden, participate in the midnight jam sessions around the bonfire, and camp out beneath the stars with other folkies!
Chris Messytone will be providing some of the Manitoba Marathon's official course entertainment on Sunday, June 19, during the morning hours of the event. He will entertain both spectators and marathon participants around the 6-mile point of the journey, at the intersection of St. Vital and River roads.

Hot Blizzard Folk Festival
I'll be playing at Hot Blizzard Folk Fest this winter!
In February, Portage's fourth annual winter folk festival will be returning to the historic Trinity United Church situated in downtown Portage la Prairie. Experience the amazing acoustics and ambient atmosphere of the venue, and warm your body, mind, and soul while listening and dancing to a wide array of musical styles! Melt the Winter Blues!
Helen White + Chris Messytone
Meld the music of two local singer-songwriters - Helen White's catchy jazz/pop and Chris Messytone's ethnic pop/rock - and what emerges is “pop with an ethnic twist.” Portage la Prairie Folk Festival Association will be sure to give you a "folk fest spirit" filled evening at The Glesby as a prelude to the Hot Blizzard Folk Festival!
Join the fun on Saturday, January 16th at 7:30 pm, as The Glesby Theatre is transformed into a Winnipeg-style social club featuring long tables, a bar, snacks, and dance floor! You’ll want to get your advance tickets for the first-ever shindig of its kind in Portage la Prairie, by visiting the William Glesby Centre's website.
